In this week’s installment of Ember Island Airwaves, J and I discuss the incredibly draining experience of watching “The Ultimatum.” We explore classism and how the protagonist/antagonist relationships in The Legend of Korra directly contrast with those in Avatar: The Last Airbender. J and I then speculate about the fate of Tenzin and the other airbenders as well as Kai’s newfound heroism. Finally, we talk about the cliffhanger ending and what it could mean for the upcoming finale.

Please note that this podcast will contain spoilers up through “The Ultimatum.” As always, you can subscribe to Ember Island Airwaves using iTunes. Alternatively, you can listen to the episode online or download it here. Happy listening!

As referenced in this podcast, the Last Agni Kai is on Youtube in full here, and the Tonraq/Unalaq fight from Book 2 can be found here.

Are you excited for the Korra finale? How do you think class has played into the unique dynamics of Avatar and Korra? And seriously: who was flying that airship? Sound off in the comments below, and tune in next week as we reflect on the one-hour Book 3 finale!
