It’s been awhile since our last episode of Ember Island Airwaves. In the interim, I had the chance to interview the fantastic Stephen Stanton (the voice of Old Wan and the Air Lion Turtle in “Beginnings, Part 2”). In addition, some major news about The Legend of Korra was dropped at San Diego Comic Con.

Last week saw the birth of a new kind of Korra. With “Long Live The Queen,” show has taken a shocking and significant turn toward more mature content. J and I discuss how the new distribution format will affect the franchise, as well as how the tone of the show itself has changed over the course of the history of Avatar. Finally, we delve into the past few episodes and talk about how the show has portrayed both its heroes (such as Asami and Korra) and its villains (the Red Lotus).

Has moving the show online helped save the show? Or will it ultimately be the demise of this series? And do you think this season is going to end on a down note? Sound off in the comments below!
